Securities Laws construed broadly
The Oregon Supreme Court in Badger v Paulson
Investment Co, 311 Ore. 14, 803 P.2d 1178 (1991) at 20 wrote,
This court has stated that the underlying policy of
Oregon's securities laws is "to afford the greatest possible protection to
the public." Adamson v. Lang, 236 Or 511, 516, 389 P2d 39 (1964). ORS
59.115(1) gives rise to a private right of action against a seller of
securities. Held v. Product Manufacturing Company, 286 Or 67, 69-70,
592 P2d 1005 (1979).
